Visit Accudyne at CAMX 2016 !

CAMX 2016 is less than two weeks away and Accudyne Systems will be there! We will be exhibiting from September 27th to 29th in Booth R60. As we have in the past, Accudyne is setting up meetings in advance to provide some uninterrupted one-on-one meeting time during the show. If you will be attending CAMX and have Composites Processing Equipment Automation needs you would like to discuss, then please let us know so we can set aside some time for you. As you may have seen while browsing our website, we have built all manner of composite processing equipment to include automated fiber placement machines, flat charge laminators, stringer formers, cross-ply laminators, de-bulking systems, noodle formers, pick-and-place laminators, kitting machines, bladder wrappers, robotic tool management and others. Our equipment is used in production environments for parts on the B787, A350, V-22 and others.
In addition to exhibiting, Accudyne will be presenting a paper in the Manufacturing & Processing Technologies track in the Automation & Robotics session on Thursday at 4:00 PM. The paper will gives a number of machine examples where the use of Pick, Place and Form technologies are used to greatly improve part quality and reduce unit cost.

The abstract for the paper is provided below:

Increased Productivity through Automated Pick, Place and Form Technology
Despite significant advances over the years in the automation of composite processes, a considerable amount of hand lay-up operations still exist for both thermoset and thermoplastic composite systems. In some instances, production volumes are too low to justify costly AFP or ATL equipment. In others, part geometry does not lend itself to these placement systems. Use of pick-and-place technology in combination with unique forming methods can be a cost effective approach to bring about desired improvements in manufacturing productivity, quality and reduction in unit cost. It is also possible to construct a wide range of part geometries and sizes on a single machine if sufficient flexibility is designed into the forming process. This paper will review several cases addressing the manufacture of a variety of parts using a range of pick, place and form methodologies.
