Accudyne Systems stringer former builds curved or twisted stringers

Accudyne has made a variety of Stringer Laminators & Formers for commercial aircraft. After more than four years of operation, the machine above continues to produce a wide range of stringer shapes. It laminates complex, multi-curved parts using a ply-by- ply lamination/forming process. Parts up to 52 ft (15.8 meters) long are produced on the unique machine architecture that moves the tool back and forth under the heads. The material heads carry 0, 90, +45 and -45 rolls of uni-tape. Each head has four degrees of freedom allowing them to accurately follow the traversing tool while providing precise web tension and cut and add on-the- fly. The machine lays material at a rate of approximately 2 minutes/ply.
